Mission Statement

Redline Performing Arts is committed to creating a safe space where the arts are accessible and affordable to all. We remain intent on fostering community through arts justice by incorporating the four pillars of our organization: live productions, Redline Education Department, Redline Players Conservatory and Performance Troupe and our community action program, Produce and More. Redline produces a thriving culture for underserved, often marginalized communities, putting people over profit and elevating action onstage and in our community.

ARTS EVERYWHERE. ARTS FOR ALL.

A NOTE FROM OUR ARTISTIC DIRECTOR and CEO

Alonzo Richmond
I believe there is something very special about creatives! Some might say they are the heartbeat of the world! Theatre specifically teaches an amazing skill set that is beneficial to any workplace – communication, commitment, time management, empathy and responsibility are just a few of the qualities that the theatre teaches.
As an educator, I have always been fully committed to not only educating students in the history, and art form known as theatre, but also in how to become a qualified theatre professional, onstage and off. I have a responsibility to instill a love for theatre arts in my students, but maybe more importantly, how to be businessmen and women in the sometimes cutthroat world of the performing arts.
Maya Angelou said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
My role as a director is to help the performer find the story inside them and pull it out! My philosophy is STRONG and WRONG! Make me big decisions! The rehearsal space is a safe place in which every performer should be comfortable in making decisions, good or bad. Then knowing they have someone to be honest yet loving in the direction that is given! In doing so, we are teaching them to earn that standing ovation!
